High build vinyl pigmented with durable, light-fast pigments

High build coating for protection of steel and galvanised steel in aggressive environments. Tolerant of damp surfaces during application. Typical applications include lighting columns and general industrial plant.

Use with our patinas to produce antique and highlighted finishes
Cross cut and impact adhesion far superior to conventional alkyd systems

Dry Film Thickness : Typical 80 microns
Range 60-140 microns
Theoretical Coverage : 5.3m² per litre at 75 microns
Drying Time At 20°C :
(will vary with temperature, air movements, etc.)
Touch Dry : 2 hours
Film Dry : 3 hours
Overcoat : 3 hours
Packaging : 5 litre and 20 litre
Shelf Life : 2 years or longer in unopened containers when stored under cover in good storage conditions.
Storage : Under cover with temperature range of 5°C to 32°C.
 
Surface Preparation : Thoroughly degrease using Xylene, panel wipe or gunwash
 
Application Conditions : Temperature minimum 5°C
Humidity less than 90% RH
Application Methods : Brush, Roller Spray : Vinyl gaurd HB can be applied using conventional, airless and HVLP spray methods. 5-10% of Xylene may be required to give optimum spray characteristics.
Brush or roller is the preferred method for use on damp surfaces.
Clean-up : Xylene or gun wash

Mordant t-wash (DXS3419)

A pre-treatment for galvanised steel to ensure the subsequent adhesion of a wide range of coatings. A colour change from grey to black is visual proof that the entire surface has been satisfactorily treated.

T-Wash is a pre-treatment only and should be overcoated with priming paints as soon as possible after the treatment has dried.

A clear blue solution which is available in 2.5  and 5 Litre size containers only.
